Hello World!

Wow! I am truly surprised that this is “done”! I have been planning it for a while - over a year at least (wow, what a long pregnancy!), but I STILL am caught off-guard by how I feel right now.

I’m ready - to share some of the really creative ideas running through my head.

I’m excited - by all the options this form of communication opens to all of us.

And I’m curious - to see what the world’s creativity “looks” like. So,here goes!

I’m working on completing a few books right now… the current topics are ways to decorate with shells, crystals and hatboxes. I’m feeling generous with my new “birthday” so here are clips from each one.

From “What to do with Shells”:
* Completely cover a chandelier by gluing shells to all the arms of the chandelier. This was absolutely STUNNING!

From “What to do with Crystals”:
* Find a way to hang an extra curtain rod for your crystals. Use a tension rod in a window frame, or hang an attractive rod from hooks in the ceiling. You can create a beautiful arrangement by varying the heights and spacing of your crystals along the length of the rod.

From “What to do with Hatboxes”:
* Stack three matching or complimentary hatboxes of graduating sizes. Drill holes in the exact center of the tops and bottoms of all three hatboxes big enough to thread a lamp kit through. Thread the kit through and assemble per the instructions that come with the kit. Voila! A hatbox LAMP! And it might look good with a hatbox lampshade! You’ll have to check that out for yourself.

There ya go! What say ye about those ideas?

Your Frugal Decorating Diva,

Nancy

It seems that I’ll be the first one, who is honoured to leave a comment here! And I’m so proud of it! :)

    Nancy
I love your ideas and I am so glad that you posted a message in the Yahoo group to check this out. You are an inspiration to us “JUNKIES”.

I can’t wait to see this evolve.

I love the idea for crystals. That will fit in my bedroom.

just found your site and the crystals sound so interesting. I have a torch lamp in my living room and have been thinking about adding them all around the outside or either the beaded fringe to make it look more elegant. also want to paint the glass shade design to match my colors. i live in a mobile home and it is hard to hang anything on my living room walls since i have 8 windows in this room. We plan on buying a larger one in a few months. like you we live on five acres and i love anything free or almost. thank you for this web site. both my dh and i love going to auctions and he is bad to buy box deals for a dollar or two, you can have no idea what i have gotten out of them!
