Do You Know How to Repurpose Snow? Plus Some Cute Button Ideas

I loved the snow when it came in December. It was “new” and “fresh”, and what I wanted for the “season”. Well, that was wonderful THEN. NOW I want to garden. And the daffodils and tulips want to bloom. They are currently between four and six inches tall. I can even see buds on some of the daffodils.
When trying to think about how to repurpose snow, I realized that it will do that on it’s own. Soon, in just a few days, that snow will become fresh water for those tulips and daffodils.
So, for a “spirit” lift today, I was thinking about what today’s artistic creation could be. Something fast, easy, and beautiful. Here’s what I came up with (Click on the picture to get a bigger view.):
I started with simple white porcelain pieces - a square plate, a small vase, and a ring box. I got my inspiration from the snow and went with buttons in various shades of white.
The assembly was really easy. I laid out the designs on each piece until they looked the way I wanted them to, and then hot-glued everything in place.
Now hot-glue isn’t the best thing to use to glue anything to porcelain. Since the porcelain is not porous, the hot-glue doesn’t form a strong bond. Super glue, or a specific porcelain glue would be much better. I didn’t have any and wanted to make SOMETHING so I went with hot-glue.
I love how these came out. My little motto is to make things that lead to an elevation of my (and your) spirit. These definitely accomplished that goal for me. How about you?
