Book Lamp

This lamp was pretty easy to make. I used:

  • A wooden cutting board
  • A small lamp and compatible shade
  • 3 old books
  • A leather belt
  • Green Acrylic paint

Here’s what I did:

  1. 1. Paint the wooden cutting board with the green paint. Let it dry.
  2. 2. While waiting for that, use a rag and wipe some of the green paint over the base. Don’t paint the whole thing. Just wipe it on.
  3. 3. Wrap the belt around the three books. If you can’t secure the belt buckle, punch a new hole in the belt so you can. Trim the belt if necessary so that the belt doesn’t look too long.
  4. 4. Using hot glue, glue the book stack to the cutting board. I glued mine at an angle that overhung the edges of the cutting board.
  5. Next, using hot glue, glue the bottom of the lamp to the cutting board.

YOU’RE DONE!

What a great gift for someone with a library, or someone who loves books.
