Frame Table

A frugal way of decorating with picture frames and fishing tackle, this is easier than it may look. You need:

  • 1 - Deep set clock picture frame, with glass. Mine was about 2" deep.
  • 1 - Canvas-seated camp stool
  • 2 - Bamboo placemats
  • Assorted fishing tackle
  • Clothesline rope
  • Acrylic paint - mine was the green shown in the picture above
  • Wood glue

Okay, lets make a picture frame table!

  1. 1. First, remove the canvas from the stool. Mine was stapled on, so I used a pair of pliers and pulled out the staples.
  2. 2. Then, using wood glue, glue the back of the clock to the wooden bars that the canvas used to be staples/attached to.
  3. 3. Once dry, paint whatever color you want. I did use spray paint for mine.
  4. 4. Once THAT’S dry, lay the two bamboo placemats into the bottom of the clock frame, overlapping if necessary. Feel free to glue these down for better stability.
  5. 5. Arrange the fishing tackle in a pleasing display on top of the bamboo placemats.
  6. Lay the glass from the frame on top of the frame. If yours didn’t have glass, buy a piece of Plexiglas and have it cut to the right size.
  7. Hot glue rope around the edge of the table, covering any rough or sharp edges of glass. And BE CAREFUL! NO cutting yourself! There’s too many good ideas on this site, to get injured and not be able to make them!

This would be a great gift for the favorite guy in your life. Fill it with sports memorabilia, a small box collection or anything else your man collects. He’ll LOVE it!
